Put an End to Shampoo Bottles!

Posted on September 18, 2018December 12, 2019

We have all seen the pictures of plastic bottles littering our planet but what can we do to stop it?  We have all been conditioned (no pun intended!) to go to the store and buy our shampoo off the shelf in a bottle, but it does not have to be that way.  You can now find shampoo in bar form and here is why I think you need to switch:

Less packaging.  Instead of a large, plastic bottle, bar shampoo is packaged in shrink-wrap.  Yes, it is still waste, but more than 95% less waste than a bottle.

Better ingredients.  Bar shampoos are easily found, either online or directly from local sellers.  I buy mine at local farm markets.  They are made by-hand with natural oils, fragrances and colors.  Most often, the ingredients are higher quality than off-the-shelf soaps or products.

My hair feels, looks great.  I won’t show you a picture, but I love the way it feels.  It lathers up easily with one or two swipes so you are using a lot less product, too!  I have been using the bar (pictured) for a couple of weeks and it is less than half used + you won’t have to shake the bottle to get the last bit out.

Less clutter in your shower or suitcase.  Bottles take up a lot of space in the shower, especially mine, and some never get completely used and stay in there forever. I hate clutter so this has been a welcome addition to my shower + you can easily pack it and leave the bottles in the hotel for the next guest.

Please consider buying your next bottle of shampoo in a bar instead. The planet will thank you and your hair will like it too!

If you are looking for some suggestions on reputable places to buy, feel free to leave a comment and I will send you a couple of options.
